Pia Schiavo-Campo is a social impact marketing and communications expert with 16 years of experience helping nonprofits, foundations, and mission-driven organizations clarify their message, engage stakeholders, and elevate their impact. Her expertise spans stakeholder engagement, digital strategy, branding, messaging development, and storytelling.
A certified professional coach through Leadership That Works, Pia supports nonprofit leaders in building their capacity with confidence, clarity, and creativity. She brings thought partnership and strategic insight to every client relationship, helping organizations navigate growth and change with intention.
As a Partner at Momentum Solutions Team, Pia most recently served as Interim Communications Director for the Western Justice Center, where she laid a strong foundation for future success—developing messaging frameworks, strengthening the brand, elevating their newsletter, and growing the organization’s digital presence.
She also partnered with Cause Communications on Communicating for Results, a six-month training program for nonprofit leaders funded by the Dwight Stuart Youth Fund. Through a mix of group sessions and one-on-one coaching, Pia helped participants strengthen their internal and external communications—leading to clearer messaging, stronger teams, and measurable progress toward organizational goals.
Prior to joining Momentum Solutions Team, Pia led digital strategy at Catalyst California and spent nearly a decade consulting with Zimmer Children’s Museum’s youTHink program. There, she developed a social justice arts curriculum and facilitated civic engagement workshops for LAUSD students, using art and improv to build youth voice and leadership.
Pia also served as Board Chair of Open Paths Counseling Center, where she helped develop new branding, launch a refreshed website, and strengthen board culture during the transition to telehealth in the pandemic.
Her writing and public speaking voice grew out of Chronicles of a Mixed Fat Chick, the blog she launched in 2011 to reframe health and wellness through a lens of body liberation. She was named one of New Hope Network’s Top 100 Responsible Health & Wellness Influencers of 2020, and her work has been featured by ABC News, People Magazine, The Huffington Post, Yoga International and Bustle. In 2022, she produced the highly successful summit Reimagining Health & Wellness, which convened 21 thought leaders across the wellness landscape and drew over 2,000 attendees.
She studied improv for over 20 years, training and performing at the Studio Theater, Bang Comedy Theater, and Improv Olympics West—and continues to bring that insight, humor, and empathy into her work with organizations and teams.
She is a graduate of the University of Maryland and the Fashion Institute of Technology. Outside of work, Pia has a passion for style and fashion, loves cooking for family and friends, and enjoys traveling the world with her husband and young son.
